Over time Qatarstc has gained extensive knowledge of military and defense specifications and standards for armed forces all over the world, including DEF STAN, NATO, MIL-PRF, MIL-SPEC, DOD and DCSEA.
Military equipment can be used in extreme environmental conditions. Specs and standards have evolved beyond the initial need for proper performance, maintainability and reparability (MRO) and logistical utility of military equipment. MRO and logistics were big drivers behind standardisation, or the need for greater interchangeability during times of conflict. During the Second World War, Allied forces were kept busy standardizing and cataloguing equipment. The U.S. AN- cataloguing system (Army-Navy) and the British Defense Standards (DEF-STAN) are great examples of this.
Specifications and Standards
What is a standard?
A defence standard is a document that establishes uniform engineering and technical requirements for military-unique or substantially modified commercial processes, procedures, practices, and methods.
There are different types of defence standards; interface standards, design criteria standards, manufacturing process standards, standard practices, and test method standards all exist.
United States defence standards, often called a military standard, “MIL-STD” or “MIL-SPEC”, are used to help achieve standardization objectives by the U.S. Department of Defense. The UK uses “DEF-STAN” to set similar standards across its military.
What is a specification?
Specifications (often informally referred to as ‘specs’) refer to an explicit set of requirements to be satisfied by a material, design, product, or service. If a material, product, or service fails to meet one or more of the applicable specifications, it may be referred to as being out of specification.
A specification is a technical standard. A technical specification may be developed by various kinds of organisations, both public and private.

Qatarstc provide a range of repack services to military customers and suppliers. The ability to repack small volumes of materials with a fast turnaround provides a truly value added service. To ensure the optimum application of many materials, the pack size or pack format, can be changed to reduce waste, save time and improve accuracy.
